) R-visa, also known as nonimmigrant visa in the United States of America, is a visa issued by American embassy or consulate and valid for one year, which allows you to make five entry into that country during period validity. The purpose of this visa can be either for business visit like attending meeting/conference/seminar etc.or personal visits such as visiting friends and relatives living there permanently but not taking up residence or even just a tourist trip with short duration of stay. If your final destination will be outside main city area where US Embassy /Consulateis located, you have to get additional permission from relevant authority before submitting visa application form. You need to submit following documents when applying for an r-Visa:
A photocopy of both sides of passport pages including photo page, stamped on each side, which are valid for the period at least till date of return journey. If you hold more than one passports, then you should provide all those passports. Also if you hold multiple entry passport(multiple-entry visas are normally available only after years of service/contributions)and it's about to expire soon, then we strongly recommended that you don't use them anymore because the new passport has its own stamping record. It means that they may cross check whether you really used old passports for past trips overseas or not. Therefore,it’s better to choose other most recent passports to apply this time instead. Please note that any visa stamps in your expired passage book, no matter how long ago it was obtained, would invalidate any current applications submitted under the same name. Furthermore,we suggest you never take out any travel insurance unless required by specific requirement of airline company.
